Your flooring system could be letting in 73% of contamination to your critical area!

Independent tests carried out by GlaxoSmithKline prove that Dycem floor coverings and
mats are more than three times more effective than disposable peel-off mats. Dycem
prevents 99% of wheel and foot borne contamination entering the critical environment,
compared to a mere 27% for peel-off mats; a huge difference by any standards.

Often only one peel-off mat is used in the attempt to control contamination. This only allows
one footstep of one foot to come into contact with the contamination-collecting surface. This
is simply not enough. Dycem, on the other hand, allows at least three footsteps from both
feet. Reducing the risk of contamination entering the critical area to < 1%. Particle shedding
is a huge issue with peel-off mats. As you rip off a layer of a peel-off mat between 15-20% of
the collected particulate can be redistributed into the atmosphere. Once at this level it is free
to permeate into your critical environment unchecked. So not only are peel-off mats far less
effective than Dycem, they also help spread up to 20% of the collected contamination back
into the atmosphere.
